Lorain man accused of stabbing dog to death

(Lorain) – A shocking case of animal cruelty out of Lorain.

30-year-old Emanuel Eisel is accused of holding a dog by its tail and then stabbing it to death.

Police Captain Thomas Mize tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 it happened Saturday night at a relative’s home in the 1200 block of Massachusetts Avenue. Eisel is the step-son of the home owner, Anthony Blue.

According to police, a 40 pound black and white border collie growled at Eisel around 8:30 p.m. while the dog was chained outside of the home. Capt. Mize says Eisel is accused of then picking the dog up by its tail off the ground.

Protecting itself, Capt. Mize says the dog then bit Eisel. Eisel then used a six-inch black pocket knife and stabbed the dog several times. It had to be put down at the Lorain Emergency Animal Clinic.

Eisel ran from police and struggled with officers. He now faces charges of Cruelty to Animals, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official Business, and two counts of Intimidation.
