The smell of ribs filll the air downtown

(Cleveland) - The 22nd annual Marc's Great American Rib Cook Off and Music Festival is in full swing.

The four day event began Friday and runs through Memorial Day at the Jacobs Pavilion and the Nautica Entertainment Complex on the Flats' west bank.

Saturday, some of the best backyard cookers in the region took part in the Amateur Grilling Competition. Among them, William Lipscomb of Cleveland who says he's been cooking ribs since the age of 12. For just competing participants were awarded a propane grille.



While great food is at the ready, there is also lots of live entertainment. A group of musicians celebrating Fifty Years of Satisfaction, the new exhibit at the Rock Hall showcasing the work of the Rolling Stones.

Rick Springfield takes the stage Saturday, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Buddy Guy performs Sunday while Bret Michaels of the band Poison playing on Memorial day.
