A renewed search for Amy's killer

A renewed search for Amy's killer

(Bay Village) It's been nearly 25 years since 10-year-old Amy Mihaljevic was abducted at the Bay Square Shopping Center in Bay Village. Amy was last seen with a tall man with thinning hair and scruffy facial hair. According to Amy's friends and parents she was contacted by a man by phone who wanted to take her shopping to buy a gift for her mother.

On February 8th, 1990 Amy's body was found in a field in Ruggle's Township in Ashland County. All these years later no one has been arrested for the kidnapping and murder that shook a community.

On Tuesday, Bay Village Police Chief Mark Spaetzel held a news conference introducing former FBI Special Agent Phil Torsney who has been brought back on the Mihaljevic case, this time as a consultant to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office.

Both Spaetzel and Torsney were on the case since the beginning. Spaetzel says investigators will also be using new DNA technology that wasn't available 25 years ago to try to pinpoint a suspect. Spaetzel says after all these years leads are still coming in all the time from people in the community still interested in finding Amy's killer.
