(Ft. Lauderdale, FL) -- Browns wide receiver Davone Bess is free on bond after allegedly assaulting an officer at Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.
The 28-year-old was taken into custody at 6:15 Friday morning, and was released later in the morning on bond after being charged with three misdemeanor counts.
Broward County Sheriff's Captain Roy Liddicott says Bess was singing and dancing erratically in an airport concourse with his pants falling down when deputies approached him.
Liddicott says Bess reportedly then went to a Dunkin' Donuts counter, grabbed a cup of coffee, and squeezed it until it spilled on the officer. Bess also reportedly raised his fist before he was taken down.
Bess--who once played for the Miami Dolphins--made headlines recently for posting a picture on his Twitter page with what appears to be marijuana on his coffee table while the documentary "Cocaine Cowboys" is playing on the TV in the back round.
The NFL is reportedly aware of the picture but the league has not responded to it.
Bess missed the last two games of last season with the Browns after leaving the team for personal reasons.
