Casino player claims he was robbed

(Stark County) - Police are investigating the theft of $150,000 dollars from a Horseshoe Casino Cleveland player, who says he was held up by two men who invaded his home.

The Jackson Township resident identified only as "Jared" says two African-American men, dressed in black with stocking caps forced their way into his house and held him at gunpoint.

Jared told WTAM 1100's Mike Trivisonno that he was in the process of counting his poker winnings when the two men drove up in a black vehicle.

Jared says they threatened to kill him, and beat him causing a concussion, and putting a gash in his leg. He says they got away with $60,000 in cash and $90,000 in casino chips.

Jared says he would have put the money in the casino's safe deposit box, but contends none were available.

Police say Jared was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released.
