Cleveland fires a firefighter involved in shift trade case

 (Cleveland) - Cleveland Firefighter Calvin Robinson is out of a job stemming from the shift trading scandal within the fire department.  

The city Wednesday terminated Robinson who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge last month of complicity to receiving unlawful compensation.  

Robinson was on the department for 23-years.  Robinson, according to prosecutors, missed about 3 and a half years worth of work or 8,500 hours during which time he coached football at Glenville High School and operated a day care. 

Thirteen firefighters were implicated in the case where they would trade shifts with other fire crews but not work a future shifts for those with whom they traded shifts.
