Ex-nurse sentenced in murder plot

(Cleveland) – A federal judge sentenced 23 year old Andrew Martin to twelve years in prison. The former Cleveland Clinic nurse will also pay $84,000 restitution for trying to steal a house and murder its owner.

Martin admitted offering $10,000 to an E.R. patient to kill a Lakewood woman. He'll also serve three years’ probation when released.

According to prosecutors...Martin, got together with David Simons, who had done occasional carpentry work for home owner George Warehime.

Warehime died December 4, 2010, at the age of 83. The administrator of his estate, sister Joy Comey put his house up for sale and found buyer.

Martin and Simons claimed Warehime had deeded the house to them without cost. It was valued at $193,000. Prosecutors contend, that’s when martin conspired to have Comey killed.
