(Barberton) - Barberton Police are looking into the shootings of four people New Year's Eve, two of whom were teenagers who died.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Barberton police got a 911 call to go to a home on 7th Street NE where there had been gunfire.
Four people were shot during the incident. 18-year-old Ashley Carpenter and her brother, 14-year-old David Kohler Carpenter were both pronounced dead at the scene. The father of the teens, 42-year-old John Kohler and his girlfriend, 38-year-old Ronda Blankenship, were both wounded and remain in the hospital.
Barberton Police are quoted in The Beacon Journal as saying at least two shooters went to the house. Police believe robbery was the motive behind the shootings.
No suspect descriptions have been released.
