(Elyria) - Ohio State troopers made a huge marijuana discovery during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Lorain County.
Troopers pulled over a 2007 Chevy 1500 pick-up with Nevada Tags January 21 near milepost 133.
Upon further observation, troopers suspected drugs may have been inside the vehicle and called in a drug sniffing K9.
Troopers say the found 235 pounds of pot with a street value of 1.2 million dollars.
Troopers arrested the driver, 42-year old Kimberly Benson and 62-year old passenger Daniel Essad, both of Reno, Nevada.
The pair is locked up at the Lorain County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both second degree felonies. Benson and Essad could each receive sixteen years in prison, if convicted.
